SUMMARY:Lecture:  Caryl Bryer Fallert (Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry is internationally known for her award-winning fine-art quilts\, which are easily recognized by their luminous colors and illusions of light\, depth\, and motion. Her attention to detail has earned her a reputation for fine craftsmanship as well as stunning designs. Her quilt\, Corona 2: Solar Eclipse was voted one of the hundred best quilts of the 20th Century. Caryl’s work has appeared in hundreds of exhibitions and publications throughout the world\, and can be found in museum\, corporate\, public\, and private collections in almost every state and eight foreign countries. For 30 years\, Caryl traveled extensively\, lecturing and conducting workshops for quilt and textile arts groups throughout the United States\, and in ten foreign countries. She continues to share her knowledge through her publications and her website \nThis presentation will take place via Zoom.  Caryl will host the pre-recorded video and be available for Q & A afterwards. \nWe will also offer a workshop on her Appliepiecing Simple Curves method taught by one of our members\, Paul Neumann\, on Saturday\, October 17 at Quilty Pleasures in Simi Valley. \n

DESCRIPTION:San Fernando Valley Quilt Association – SIXTH annual retreat is set for Thursday\, June 24 – Sunday\, June 27\, 2027 at the Vina de Lestonnac Retreat Center in Temecula. This is a great opportunity to be with friends as you work on your own unfinished projects or begin something new. Enjoy days and nights of uninterrupted sewing\, good friends and delicious food. Your biggest challenge will be deciding what to bring and making sure you have everything you need! You have the choice of attending 3 or 4 days. Vina de Lestonnac is always a beautiful place to sit outside\, read a book\, observe the hot air balloons\, take a walk\, watch a sunset\, visit with friends\, and SEW . . . SEW . . .
