Lecture: Chloe Cumbow, “Quilt Reflections, Responses, & Fabric Rescues”

January 12, 2026 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm PST

Chloe currently is a volunteer and teacher at Quilting for Community (Q4C).  She’s been a quilter for 50 years and is also a painter, metalsmither, former fabric and needlework shop owner, as well as a former quilt guild president in Massachusetts. She has exhibited some of the quilts you will see all over New England, New York, Texas, and South Africa.  Chloe “rescues” fabric and makes quilts in response to world events.  She is going to share some of those fabric rescues she’s turned into quilts and the stories behind them.  After all, art often helps us express and process our emotions and helps us find connection and hope when life gets tough.  In her presentation, Chloe hopes to encourage everyone to find their own voice to express their creativity and response to life events.  Chloe currently teaches beginners to quilt at Q4C.
